We have maintained our trails over the last two years with our reliable but vintage LMC, we self-funded this initial machine and the cost of operating it to get our Club off the ground as quickly as possible.
The Old LMC did us proud, but she was tired. With Allagash Headwaters Lodge opening this year and the incredible number of riders using our trail systems, the Old Girl couldn’t keep up anymore.
As seasonal deadlines have long passed for any opportunities of State Aid or otherwise, we had to make a tough financial decision, so we self-funded a new modern groomer! Yes, we signed on the dotted line and now must pay. The Club does receive a $6300 per year stipend from the State of Maine for operating costs such as fuel, oil, etc. As you can imagine, that does not last very long. Not even close to making the payments on this rig.
We are an ALL-volunteer club that could not operate without generous donations from our members and donors, through annual membership dues and donations to cover the cost of fuel, maintenance, etc.
Thank you for all your past donations, but we must ask for a real push here. The Gateway to the Ghost Trains is kept open and maintained due to your generosity, and just like all expenses, they have to be paid even in the off-season, and as we all know, our off-season is long.
THANK YOU for your generosity! We will put it to great use.
The Donation link is below. Thank you in advance for your support!
